[macOS] When attempting to pick up a color from my screen, the MacOS accessibility screen appears.

From macOS Mojave (version 10.14), users must set their macOS accessibility permissions to allow Clip Studio Paint’s [Obtain screen color] function to run.

The items that need to be set differ depending on the OS version you are using.

Additionally, the following steps should also be done if the correct color is not being picked up.

Setup Procedure

If you are using macOS Mojave (10.14), macOS Catalina (10.15) or macOS Big Sur (11), please make the following settings.

1. In Clip Studio Paint, select [Edit] menu -> [Obtain screen color] and click [OK] when the following dialog box appears.

2. When the following dialog box appears, click [Open System Preferences].

Note: If the above dialog does not appear, close the open canvas.

3. In the [Accessibility] section, the [Privacy] screen will appear. Clear the key icon at the bottom left and check [Clip Studio Paint].

For macOS Catalina (10.15) / macOS Big Sur (11)

If you are using macOS Catalina (10.15) or macOS Big Sur (11), please make the following settings following the above settings.

1. If Clip Studio Paint is running, close it and restart it.

2. Select [Edit] menu > [Obtain screen color].

3. When the following message displays, click [Open System Preferences].

Note: If the above dialog does not appear, close the canvas.

4. Check [CLIP STUDIO PAINT] in the [Privacy] tab of [Screen recording].

6. Select [Quit Now] to close Clip Studio Paint.

Note
If the dialog box in step 3 does not appear, or if [CLIP STUDIO PAINT] isn't listed, restart Clip Studio Paint and run [Obtain Screen Color].

Once you have completed these steps, you should be able to use the [Obtain screen color] function.

The problem is not fixed

Please follow the procedure described below if any of the following apply:

● I can't use [Obtain Screen Color] even though I have set the permissions in the macOS settings.

● The accessibility dialog box now appears after updating Clip Studio Paint.

1. Exit Clip Studio Paint.

2. If a dialog box for accessibility or screen recording dialog boxes display as shown below, click [Deny] to close the dialog box.

Note: Since it may be hidden behind other application windows, please close the dialog box after hiding the window.

3. Open [Apple] menu > [System Preferences].

4. Select [Security & Privacy].

5. Select the [Privacy] tab.

6. Select [Accessibility] from the list on the left.

7. Remove the key icon at the bottom left to make [Clip Studio Paint] selectable and click the [-] button to delete it.

Note: If the [Clip Studio Paint] field does not display, proceed to step 8.

8. Start Clip Studio Paint and close a blank canvas when it is opened.

9. Select [Edit] menu > [Obtain screen color].

10. When the following dialog box appears, click [OK].

11. When the following dialog box appears, click [Open System Preferences].

12. In the [Accessibility] tab, select [Privacy] and check [Clip Studio Paint].

If you are using macOS Mojave (10.14), your settings are now complete.

13. Select [Screen Recording] from the list on the left.

14. Uncheck [Clip Studio Paint] and select [Later].

15. Check the [Clip Studio Paint] checkbox again and select [Quit Now].

By doing the above, you should now be able to perform [Obtain Screen Color].
