When using a pen tablet, the stylus, and the line it draws are offset and/or pen pressure is not detected.

There are several reasons for the pen tip coordinate deviation or undetected pen pressure while using a pen tablet or tablet PC.

Please check the corresponding section below according to the device the error is occurring on.


Note: If the problem persists in other programs, the error is likely from your device. Please contact the pen tablet's manufacturer.


If you use a pen tablet with tilt support connected to a computer

Please try the solutions below in the order listed.
When your problem is solved, further steps are unnecessary.


Solution 1 (Windows 10 only):

Solution 2 (Windows 10 only):

In Clip Studio Paint, open [File] menu > [Preferences].
In the [Preferences] dialog, select the [Tablet] option from the left menu, check the [Wintab] option from [Tablet service to use], and click [OK].



Solution 3 (Works on all operating systems):

Restore the graphics tablet driver settings. To access this, please the instructions provided by pen tablet's manufacturer.


Steps you need to take to restore settings on a Wacom device.


Note:
Restoring tablet settings, returns all settings, including button assignment and pen pressure sensitivity, to their default settings.
Even if you have recently updated the pen tablet driver, problems are likely to be solved when you restore its settings.Note:


For Windows

1. Select [Windows Start] menu > [Wacom Tablet] > [Wacom Tablet Preference File Utility].


2. Click the [Remove] button under [My preferences] and restart your computer.



Note: If you want to restore settings of all users, click the [Remove] button under [All User Preferences].


For Mac

1. Open the [Move] menu > [Application] folder.


2. Select the [Wacom Tablet] > [Wacom Tablet Utility].


3. After selecting [Current User], click the [Remove] button and restart your computer.



Note: If you want to restore settings of all users, click the key icon and confirm with your password. Then, select [All Users] and click the [Remove] button.


Solution 4 (Works on all operating systems):

Please uninstall the current pen tablet driver and re-install the latest driver according to the instructions provided by your pen tablet manufacturer.


If you have multiple pen tablet drivers installed, a driver conflict may occur, so please uninstall all drivers and reinstall only one driver.

For tablet Pcs (Windows 8 or later, models with a dedicated pen supporting pen pressure detection)

  • For Surface series tablet Pcs, please see the next section.
  • For Wacom's Cintiq Companion or MobileStudio, please follow the "If you use a pen tablet with tilt support connected to a computer" procedure above. The same applies for mobile mode users.


Solution 1

In Clip Studio Paint, open [File] menu > [Preferences].
In the [Preferences] dialog, select the [Tablet] option from the left menu, check [Tablet PC] from [Tablet service to use], and then click [OK].



Solution 2

If you have a third-party pen tablet driver installed, please uninstall it.
Be sure to use only your device’s dedicated pen, as it may not work properly with another manufacturer's pen tablet.


Solution 3

Please replace the pen nib, or replace/charge pen battery.



For the iPad

Solution 1

Tap the [CLIP STUDIO PAINT] menu icon from the top left of the screen, and check [Wacom stylus] > [Use Wacom Stylus Pen].


  • If you are using an Apple Pencil, please uncheck this option.
  • If you are using a Wacom Bamboo Sketch or Bamboo Fineline 3, please check this option.


Solution 2

Please replace the pen nib, replace or re-connect the device and the pen.


Solution 3

Open the [Settings] app for your iPad device, go to the [General] > [Accessibility] section, and turn off [Zoom] if enabled.
