I want to draw/scrape screen tones like an air brush

To use air brushes to paint or scrape screen tones, use grayscale layers or change the screen tone settings in the layer properties.

* This can also be used to scrape screen tones with a soft eraser.

Using grayscale layers

1. Select the [Layer] palette > [New layer] > [Raster layer].

2. Set the expression color to [Gray] and click OK.

3. Turn on [Tone] in the layer properties, and set the screen frequency of the screen tones.

4. Using an air brush, draw with a shade of gray of your choice.

If you want to scrape drawn tones, draw with transparent.

Using tone layers

1. Paste a tone layer of any density/frequency.

2. In the layer properties, set the effect range to [Mask image] and set Posterization to [Yes].

Note: If posterization is set to [Yes] and the effect range is [Image], moiré may occur when painting.

3. Use transparent to scrape and black to paint screen tones.
