Cannot download material / part of it cannot be downloaded

If you have problems downloading materials from Clip Studio Assets, please check the following.



For tablets and smartphones

Please follow these steps to download materials.


1. Update Clip Studio Paint to the latest version.


2. Restart your tablet or smartphone.


3. Log in with your CLIP STUDIO account from Account or Log in.




Windows/macOS: Update your browser to the latest version

An internet connection is required to download materials.

Please update the following browsers to the latest version to download materials.


For Windows: Microsoft Edge, Internet Explorer

Note: Please run updates if there are any for Windows Update.

For macOS: Safari



PCs and tablets: For material catalogs

If a material catalogue download failed, please do the following.


1. Start Clip Studio and click Manage Materials on the left.


2. Click the Downloaded material catalogs tab and look for the corresponding material catalog under that.

Ver. 2.0 or earlier


3. Select the material catalog that failed to download and click Delete to erase it.

4. Once deleted, re-download the material catalog.



Check for network connectivity issues

If there is a problem with the Clip Studio network connection, check the following page.




Check Data Transfers

If the material does not display in the download log in Data Transfers, check if the material can be used in Clip Studio Paint.

Materials for ComicStudio and IllustStudio cannot be used in Clip Studio Paint.

Windows/macOS: Check your version of Clip Studio

If your version of Clip Studio is older than 1.6.3, update to the latest version of Clip Studio that is appropriate for your license and serial number.


Download Clip Studio Paint:


You can check the Clip Studio version by tapping on the ? icon in the upper right and then Version information.

For Ver. 3.0 or later, you can check it by tapping on the gear icon in the upper right and then Clip Studio.
