How do I add a Paper layer to an image?

When I open an image, there is no Paper layer. How do I add it?

Answer

If there is no Paper layer on the canvas, you can create a Paper layer from the Layer menu.

1. Select [Layer] menu > [New Layer] > [Paper].

2. When the [Color Setting] dialog box appears, select the color you want to use on the Paper layer and click OK.

3. A Paper layer will be created in the [Layer] palette.

Note: When you open an image file such as jpeg, a Paper layer is not automatically created. You cannot create more than one Paper layer on a canvas.
