(Windows/macOS) Ver. 2.3.4 or earlier

A chromatic aberration effect can be reproduced with multiple layers and blending modes.

1. Merge all images you want to apply chromatic aberration to onto a single layer.

Note:

If you use Merge visible to new layer, a new merged layer will be created while leaving the original layers.

Right-click on any layer > Merge visible to new layer.

2. Duplicate this layer twice so you have three identical layers.

Note: You can duplicate a layer by right-clicking on the layer you want to duplicate and selecting Duplicate Layer.

3. Create a new raster layer on top of each duplicated layer.

4. Fill the newly created raster layer with red, blue and green, respectively.

Note:

When filling, set the following values for red, blue, and green to achieve a clean finish.

Red = R:255 B:0 G:0
Blue = R:0 B:255 G:0
Green = R:0 B:0 G:255

You can set colors with the color slider, or by double-clicking the drawing color and entering the numerical values into Color Settings.

5. Set the Blending Mode to Multiply on the red, blue, and green fill layers.

6. Merge each of the fill layers with the layer below.

7. Set the top two of the three layers to Screen.

8. Shift each layer with the Move layer tool to get a chromatic aberration-like effect.
