Can I use Clip Studio Paint to trace a photo or image?

You can reduce the opacity of a photo or image and trace it by drawing on a layer above it.

1. Select [File] menu > [Import] > [Image] to load the photo or image to be traced onto the canvas.

2. Select the new image layer in the [Layer] palette and lower its [Opacity].

Lowering the opacity of the layer will make it less visible, making it easier to see your lines when tracing.

3. Create a new layer on top of the image layer.

Click [New Raster Layer] in the [Layer] palette to create a new layer.

Note: You can also create a new layer via [Layer] menu > [New Raster Layer].

4. Select a drawing tool, such as the Pen or Pencil tool, and trace.
