How can I draw shapes like circles and squares?
You can use the Figure tool to create a variety of shapes, including circles and squares.
Drawing a circle/ellipse
1. Select the Figure tool > Ellipse tool.
2. Drag on the canvas to draw a circle.
3. When Adjust angle after fixed is turned on, you can change the angle of a figure after drawing it (via dragging) by moving your mouse.
Clicking will fix the angle of the figure and complete the shape.
Drawing a perfect circle
Hold down the Shift key and drag to draw a perfect circle.
You can also adjust the Tool Settings to create a perfect circle. In the Tool Settings palette, click the + symbol before Aspect type and set the aspect ratio to the following.
- Check Aspect type.
- Select Specified ratio.
- Set the same values to W & H.

Drawing a Square
You can create rectangles with the Rectangle tool.
You can set how round its corners are by turning on Roundness of corner on the Tool Settings palette.
Drawing a square
Hold down the Shift key and drag to draw a perfect square.
You can also draw a perfect square by clicking the + symbol before Aspect type in Tool Settings and set the aspect ratio to the following.
- Check Aspect type.
- Select Specified ratio.
- Set the same values to W & H.

Drawing a Polygon
You can create hexagons, octagons, and other shapes with the Polygon tool.
In the Tool Settings palette, click the + symbol before Figure to set the number of corner (vertexes).
Depending on the version you are using, the palette names may differ as follows.
- Tool Group palette > Sub Tool palette
- Tool Settings palette > Tool Property palette
Using Smart Shape
From Ver. 5.0 and later, you can use Smart Shape to accurately draw straight lines and shapes with brushes.
