(iPad) When downloading materials, Clip Studio Paint opens in a smaller screen

Question

When I download materials from Clip Studio Assets on my iPad, Clip Studio Paint opens in a smaller screen, and I can't download materials.

How can I download the material?

Answer

If the iPhone version of Clip Studio Paint is installed on your iPad, the iPhone version will launch when you download a material.

Uninstall the iPhone version of Clip Studio Paint by following the steps below.

1. Back up your work
2. Uninstall the iPhone version of the app.

1. Back up your work

Before uninstalling, please back up your work data by compressing the Clip Studio folder in the Files app.

About the Clip Studio folder

If you have both the iPhone version and the iPad version installed, you will have two Clip Studio folders where work can be saved.

Perform the following operations on both folders.

1. Open the Files app.

2. Long press the Clip Studio folder and select Compress.

3. Do step 2 for the other Clip Studio folder, leaving you with two zip files.

2. Uninstall the iPhone version of the app.

1. On your iPad home screen, look for the Clip Studio icon.

2. Before uninstalling the software, tap the icon to start it up and confirm that it is Clip Studio Paint for iPhone and not Clip Studio Paint for iPad.

The start up screen for Clip Studio Paint for iPhone is smaller and surrounded with a black background.

Left: iPhone version Right: iPad version

One you have confirmed that it is Clip Studio Paint for iPhone, close the app.

Note:
Note that the iPhone and iPad versions both have the same icon, so please confirm which icon is for the iPhone version by starting up the app before uninstalling it. ・If you uninstall the iPad version, any works previously created with it will also be deleted.

3. Press and hold Clip Studio for iPhone icon, and tap Delete App to uninstall it.

Note: If “Delete App” does not appear, uninstall by tapping the [x] on the icon's corner.

4. Open the Clip Studio folder in the Files app and check if the works are complete and intact.

If there is no problem, delete the zip file created in step 1 “Back up your work.”

Note: If the iPhone version of the app is set to automatically download, please refer to here for how to turn off automatic app downloads.

If a work created with the iPad version of the app disappears

After uninstalling the iPhone version of the app, if the iPad version has also disappeared, extract the zip file created in step 1 “Back up your work.”

1. Open the Files app.

2. Long press the zip file and select Uncompress.

3. Open the extracted folder and check that your work is there.

If necessary, copy it to the original Clip Studio folder.

*Note:

Tap Move at the bottom of the screen while a file is selected to move the folder.
