How can I show the traditional keyboard after updating to iPadOS 14?

Problem

When the new Scribble feature in iPadOS 14 is enabled, a different keyboard window appears when you tap to write text with the pen.

Solution

You can bring up the traditional keyboard window by doing one of the following:

• Turning off the Scribble function
• Tapping with your finger to enter text

Turning off the Scribble function

You can turn off the Scribble function in the Settings app, allowing the traditional keyboard window to appear.

1. Open Settings on your device.

2. Select Apple Pencil from the menu on the left side of the screen.

3. On the Apple Pencil setting screen, toggle Scribble off.

If you start Clip Studio Paint with the scribble function turned off, you will be able to enter text in the same way as before.

Tapping with your finger to enter text

When entering text, you can tap with your finger instead of the pen to bring up the traditional keyboard.

If the keyboard doesn't appear when you tap with your finger

If you are using the [Text] tool and the keyboard does not appear when you tap with your finger, please make the following settings.

1. With the [Text] tool selected, select the [Clip Studio Paint] icon > [Modifier Key] setting.

2. Check [Pen Gesture], set [Single Swipe] to [None], and tap [OK].

Tap the canvas with your finger to bring up the traditional keyboard.
