Apple M-series chips: How does Clip Studio Paint work on the iPad Pro?

Does Clip Studio Paint support Apple Pencil Pro Barrel Roll and Squeeze? (Updated July 30, 2024)

Barrel Roll support is available from Clip Studio Paint Ver. 3.0.5, released on May 30, 2024.

Additionally, Squeeze support is available from Clip Studio Paint Ver. 3.1.0, released on July 30, 2024.

Update to the latest version here.


The Barrel Roll and Squeeze function is supported on iPad Pro or iPad Air (iPadOS 17.5 or later) with Apple M2 chip or Apple M4 chips and Apple Pencil Pro.



Apple M2 chip: Is Apple Pencil’s hover function supported?

Some Apple Pencil functions such as the hover function are now supported in Clip Studio Paint version 1.13.0, released on December 6, 2022.

See here to update to the latest version.



The hover function is supported on iPad Pro (iPadOS 16.1 or later) with Apple M2 chip and Apple Pencil (2nd generation).


Steps

1. Open Clip Studio Paint menu > Preferences > Interface.


2. Check Use stylus hover on applicable devices and tap OK.



Note:
To use the hover function, the following items must be turned on in the iPad settings.
Settings > Apple Pencil > Show Effects when using Pencil



What versions of Clip Studio Paint are supported?

Clip Studio Paint Ver.1.10.8 or later has been verified to have no problems with major operations including launching the app, drawing, and saving files.

You can export both multiple pages and images faster and draw more comfortably.



Can I use my computer’s serial number on my iPad?

Unfortunately, you cannot.
