Assets: How can I import frame or layer template materials?

You can use frame border materials and layer template materials downloaded from Clip Studio Assets by importing them from the Material palette in Clip Studio Paint, or using them as templates when creating a new canvas.

The process depends on your device, so please check the following.

Tablet/Computer

In Simple Mode on the tablet, tap a material in the Downloads to load it.
Framing template materials cannot be used.


Pasting directly to the canvas

1. Select any category in the Window > Material menu



2. You can drag and drop materials from the Download folder in the Material palette to the canvas.





Using as a template on a new canvas

If you want to use a template for all pages in a multi-page project, set up the template when creating the canvas.

Note: This can also be used on single-page canvases.


1. Select File > New.



2. In the New dialog, check the project settings and then tap the Template checkbox.



3. When the following dialog box appears, select Downloaded material.



4. Select the material you want to use and press OK.



5. Confirm that the template has been added, and press OK to create the canvas with this template.





Note:

If the canvas has a default border, the frame border material will be pasted to line up with it.

If there is no default border, the frame border material will be pasted from the edge of the canvas.

Smartphone

In Simple Mode, tap a material in the Downloads to load it.

Pasting directly to the canvas

1. Select the Material palette from the palette bar, and tap the Save folder for materials icon.



2. In the Save folder for materials dialog, select the Download folder and tap OK.



3. Double-tap the frame border material you want to import in the Material palette.

You can also drag & drop materials by long-pressing the bottom left grip icon next to each material and then dragging them to the canvas.



The selected material will be pasted to the canvas.




Using as a template on a new canvas

If you want to use the same frame border material for all pages in a multi-page project, set up the template when creating the canvas.

Note: This can also be used on single-page canvases.


1. Tap the three lines menu > File > New.



2. In the New dialog, check the project settings and then tap the Template checkbox.



3. When the Template dialog appears, tap the Material search tag icon and select Downloaded material, then tap OK.



4. Select the frame border material you want to use, then tap OK.



5. Confirm that the material has been added as a template, then tap OK.



This will create a canvas with the selected material pasted on each page.




Note:

If the canvas has a default border, the frame border material will be pasted to line up with it.

If there is no default border, the frame border material will be pasted from the edge of the canvas.
