Windows: I got a blue screen error when using a pen device. What should I do to fix it? (Updated: October 5, 2022)

Updated Oct 05, 2022

If Clip Studio does not start after updating to Ver. 1.12.7, please download the updater file from the link below.

Double-tap the downloaded file and follow the installer's instructions to update.

Note: Restart your computer after the update is complete.

Blue screen error fix

If a blue screen error occurs on Windows when using a pen device, do one of the following:

Turn on “Display pages on Internet Explorer.”

Follow the steps below:

1. Start Clip Studio.

2. Click on the gear settings icon in the top-right of the screen and select Display pages on Internet Explorer from the Maintenance Menu.

Note: If the version of Clip Studio is less than 1.11.0, this setting is not necessary because there is no Display pages on Internet Explorer menu and Internet Explorer is originally used.

3. Restart Clip Studio.

After you have finished the setup process above, you will be able to use your pen device with Clip Studio.

Uncheck “Use Windows Ink” in the Wacom tablet driver.

Follow the steps below:

If the problem persists

If you still get a blue screen error after making the above settings, please contact user support.
