Smartphone: How to paste tone
Tone can be pasted from the Materials Palette or the [New Tone] from the Selection Launcher.
Note: Clip Studio Paint DEBUT does not have a dot tone function, but it is possible to paste a non-toned image material or a rasterized toned material.

Preparation
1. Use the [Selection area] tool on the Select sub tool to create a selection in the area where you want to paste the tone.
Please refer to here for the procedure to select a tool on your smartphone.
2. Follow the steps below to paste the tone you want to paste.
When pasting standard dot tone.
1. Tap [Selection Launcher Settings] in the Selection Launcher.
2. Select [Layer] → [New Layer] → [Tone] and tap [Add] at the top.
3. Close the Selection Launcher Settings and tap the added New Tone icon.
4. If the [Simple tone settings] dialog box is shows, set the Frequency and Density, and click [OK].
When pasting tone from the Material Palette (Pattern, effect tone, etc.)
1. Select the [Material] palette from the palette bar and tap the [Save folder for materials] icon.
2. Select [Material] in the [Save folder for materials] dialog and tap [OK].
3. Drag and drop the tone you wish to paste from the [Material] palette.
You can also paste it by long-pressing the lower left grip, then dragging and dropping it onto the canvas.
Note: When [Toning] is enabled in the detailed information for a selected material in the Material Palette, all materials, including image materials, can be pasted as tone.
The Frequency or angle can be changed with the [Settings of toning ...] button.
Pasting a gradient tone
Gradient tones in [Gradient] under [Monotone pattern] in the material palette, can be pasted using the same procedure as “When pasting tone from the Material Palette (Pattern, effect tone, etc.).”
Otherwise, from the tool palette, select [Gradient] > [Manga gradient] sub tool and then drag on the canvas to apply the gradient. Gradient tone will be produced based on the length of the dragged line.
Note: You can use [Operation] tool > [Object] sub tool to change the length or angle of the gradient at a later point.
