How do you export text as a text layer when exporting in PSD format?

To export text as text layers, tap File menu > Save Duplicate > psd, then check Text under Output image in the settings dialog and tap Text only.

This exports text as a Text Layer without being rasterized.

Steps

1. Select File menu > Save Duplicate > .psd(Photoshop Document) or .psb(Photoshop Big Document).



2. Specify the file destination and tap Save.



3. In the psd export settings dialog, check Text and select Text Only from the pull-down menu.

This will export the text as a text layer without being rasterized which can then be edited on other devices or programs.

Exporting as a raster layer

Select Layer image only from Text Layer.

As with regular export, this exports text and balloon layers as a single raster layer.




Exporting as raster and text layers

Select Layer image and text from Text Layer.

This exports a hidden text layer below the raster layer.

Select Text only from Text Layer.

This exports as a text layer.
