What is "Threshold for semi-transparency"?
The Threshold for semi-transparency setting under Preferences allows you to specify that textures with an opacity lower than a value you set are considered semi-transparent when applied to 3D objects.
Example "Threshold for semi-transparency" value set by user
By changing the value of this setting, you can reduce the strain on your system and make sure that transparent parts are properly rendered on 3D objects.
Threshold for semi-transparency is supported from Clip Studio Paint ver. 1.12.3, released on June 28, 2022.
Please update to the latest version here.
Steps
1. Open Preferences.
2. Select 3D.
3. Under Rendering Settings set the value for Threshold for semi-transparency and press OK.
4. Launch the app.
We recommend Threshold for semi-transparency be left at the default value of 90.
Relationship between set values and 3D display
Increasing "Threshold for semi-transparency"
means that when the semi-transparent processing is applied to the 3D object, the transparency information will be rendered accurately.
Processing speeds may be impacted if the polygon count of the object is too high.
Decreasing "Threshold for semi-transparency"
means that when the semi-transparent processing is applied to the 3D object, the strain on your system will be reduced.
You can expect lower strain on your system if processing semi-transparent textures.
Depending on the object, objects further back may not appear transparent and may experience a degradation in rendering.
