What is a one-time purchase license? (Updated March 14, 2023)

A one-time purchase license allows you to use Clip Studio Paint unlimited just by paying once.

Note: This type of license is only supported on Windows and macOS operating systems.

Are updates free of charge?

Yes. The perpetual version will still get free stability patches when necessary to address major bugs in the app.

If you wish to use the new features in Version 2.0, you will need to purchase an Update Pass or a perpetual version upgrade.

You can also check here for recommended ways to get started and purchase Ver. 2, depending on your usage situation.

Which services can I use?

As usual, you can download materials from Clip Studio Assets and receive assistance from User Support.

What version can I get now?

One-time purchase licenses currently on sale grant you Ver. 2.0.

Ver. 2.0 includes many new features, such as a 3D adjustable head model, hand pose scanner, and more. However, both the user interface and existing controls will remain almost unchanged.

See here for the full list of features.

If I have purchased Version 1, can I receive Version 2.0 for free?

Purchases made between January 1, 2022 and March 14, 2023 are eligible for a free Ver. 2.0 One-time purchase (Perpetual version).

If you purchased during the above period, you can obtain your Ver. 2.0 perpertual license from the following page.

Those who did not purchase during the above period need to purchase an update plan or upgrade to Ver. 2.0.

You can also check here for recommended ways to get started and purchase Ver. 2, depending on your usage situation.

If I change my device, will I still be able to use my one-time purchase license without limits?

We currently recommend the following system requirements for using Clip Studio Paint.

Ver. 2

Ver. 1

The app is designed to work even if the above operating environment changes in the future, such as Windows/macOS updates. If Clip Studio Paint performance decreases due to an operating system update or a technical issue, a free stability update will be implemented.

Free stability updates will cover both the current and previous versions. For example, if a free stability update is released during Ver. 2.0, it will fix bugs in both Ver. 2.0 and Ver. 1.
