Can you explain background saving?
Background saving is a function that performs the saving process in the background when saving or overwriting a file from menu commands or when Clip Studio Paint restores a canvas.
For example, when performing the menu command File > Save, you will be able to continue editing your work while the file is being saved in the background.
To enable Background saving, go to Preferences and turn onSave files as a background process.
From March 14 2023, Clip Studio Paint Ver. 2.0.0 features a Background saving feature.
See here to update to the latest version.
Directions
1. Open Preferences.
2. Select File, Save files as a background process, then tap OK.
Important:
- Background saving is a function that performs the saving process in the background when saving or overwriting a file from menu commands or when Clip Studio Paint restores a canvas. It is not an auto-saving function.
- This function only works on clip/lip format files.
- Save as and Save Duplicate will not save as a background process.
- Drawings and edits made while background saving are not reflected in the saved file. To include edits made while background saving is performed, save the file again.
What happens when saving?
An icon will display in the file name when the file is being saved.
Do not close the application while the icon is displayed.
