Tablet/Smartphone: What is a wide color gamut display?

This feature enables the display of more accurate colors on devices that support a wide color gamut.

How to set it

1. Open Preferences.


2. Under Color conversion, check the Enable wide color gamut box and tap OK.

3. Restart the app.



Where wide gamut display is enabled

  • When a wide gamut color profile such as AdobeRGB or Display P3 is set under File menu > New > Color profile.
  • When a wide gamut color profile such as AdobeRGB or Display P3 is set under View menu > Color profile > Preview Settings.


Note:
When Enable wide color gamut is enabled, please also ensure that the color profile preview for the canvas is turned on.
If the color profile preview is not enabled, then accurate colors will not display on the canvas.



Where wide gamut display is disabled

  • When Display settings for editing for 3D layers is set to Fast
  • The 3D Preview for Binding dialog
  • The Foil layer dialog
  • When displayed on the desktop screen in DeX mode

Note: Only disabled for screens currently displayed in DeX mode.



Android/Galaxy: Important notes

Depending on the OS setting, Android devices may not display the correct colors even if Enable wide color gamut is turned on.

For tablets with Galaxy and Wacom’s Android OS, please configure the following settings.


Galaxy

Under the device’s Settings > Display, set the Screen mode to Natural.



Tablets with Wacom's Android OS

Under the device’s Settings > Display, set the Color mode to Color profile mode.




If the feature doesn't display

Enable wide color gamut is not available for devices and displays that do not support wide color gamut.


If you have a device or display that supports a wide color gamut, please use Ver. 4.2 or later.
