Tablet: Accidental touches cause unintended operations

Please try the following solutions according to the issue you are experiencing.



Fingers and hands touch the screen and draw on the canvas

Disable drawing with fingers

Turn off Draw with finger, or set Use different tools with fingers and pen.


Simple Mode

Go to Preferences and turn off Draw with finger.



Studio Mode

Tap Use different tools with fingers and pen in the command bar to activate it.

Galaxy: Use Palm rejection

Check the Improve palm rejection accuracy box under Touch gestures.

Studio Mode: Layer order changes / Brush order changes / Windows and palettes move

In Preferences, turn on Disable palette operation with finger or mouse.


This will prevent operations by fingers and hands, preventing palette mishandling.

If brush order changes by pen operation

Tap menu in the Sub Tool palette and then select Change Order > Command + Drag.




If windows and palettes move by pen operation

Under the Window menu > Palette dock, check off the following items.


・Fix the width of palette dock
・Lock palette height
・Lock palette position


Note: Floating palettes cannot be fixed.



Tool changes to Eyedropper

Turn off Eyedrop with long press, or set Long press under Modifier Key Settings to None.


Simple Mode

Go to Preferences and turn off Eyedrop with long press.



Studio Mode

1. Tap the Clip Studio Paint icon and select Modifier Key Settings.



2. Under General settings, check the Pen/Gesture box.


3. Set Long press to None.




iPad: Tool changes to Eraser

Set Double-tap the stylus under Modifier Key Settings to None.


1. Tap the Clip Studio Paint icon in Studio Mode and select Modifier Key Settings.



2. Under General settings, check the Pen/Gesture box.


3. Set Double-tap the stylus to None.
