Problems confirmed in Ver. 5.0 (Updated April 21, 2026)

We have confirmed the following issues in Clip Studio Paint Ver. 5.0.

On April 21, 2026, the following was fixed with Ver. 5.0.4.


  • When resetting to original defaults, checking off certain items can unintentionally reset the contents of the Quick Access and command bar
  • 3D hand model deforms incorrectly during manipulation.

When resetting to original defaults, checking off certain items can unintentionally reset the contents of the Quick Access and command bar (April 3, 2026)

Issue

Checking off either Preferences, Shortcut Settings, or Window position in the Reset to original defaults dialog resets the customization settings for the following items.


  • Quick Access
  • Command Bar
  • Selection Launcher


3D hand model deforms incorrectly during manipulation. (3/19/2026)

■Issue

When manipulating the pre-installed 3D hand model, some areas may deform unnaturally, with parts appearing to protrude or cave in.



Fixed in Ver.5.0.2 (3/30/2026)

Windows: Shortcuts become unavailable when switching back from another application (3/18/2026)

■Issue

We have confirmed an issue where, after switching back to Clip Studio Paint from another application, shortcuts may become unavailable in some environments.


After updating to Ver. 5.0.2

Please change the following settings.


  • Go to Preferences > Tablet > under Using tablet service and change it to Wintab.
  • Open your graphic tablet's settings application and disable Windows Ink.
    For instructions on disabling Windows Ink, please refer to the official instructions provided by your graphics tablet manufacturer.


Windows: "This application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b)" error is displayed (3/19/2026)

■Issue

When performing the following actions, this error may appear in some environments and interrupt your progress.


  • Updating the app from Clip Studio
  • Select File > Import > Scan



Fixed in Ver.5.0.1 (3/13/2026)

Releasing the shortcut key while editing a "Smart Shape" with "Switch tool temporarily" prevents further operations (March 11, 2026)

Issue

If you release the shortcut key while editing a Smart Shape with Switch tool temporarily, you will no longer be able to perform any operations.



Issues under investigation

iPad: Unable to enter numbers with two or more digits on the palette (updated on 3/18/2026)

Issue

We have confirmed an issue where, in some environments, when the keyboard is set to floating on iPadOS 26, numeric values of two or more digits cannot be entered in palettes.


Workaround

Please change the keyboard to full size from the floating keyboard, and then try typing numbers.
