How can I organize my sub tools?

You can add customize your tools and add tools groups, move sub tools, and more.



How to add tool groups

Drag a sub tool to the tool group and drop it when a red, vertical line appears.

To change a tool group name, click the Show menu button on the Sub Tool palette and select Settings of sub tool.



How to move a sub tool to another tool group

Drag a sub tool onto another tool group icon, and drop it when the icon is highlighted in red.

How to combine tool groups

Drag a sub tool onto another tool group icon, and drop it when the icon is highlighted in red.


Tool groups with no sub tools will disappear automatically.

When you want to convert a sub tool into an independent tool.

Drag a sub tool to the tool palette, and drop it when a red, vertical line appears.

Moving a sub tool to another tool

Drag the sub tool above a tool icon in the tool palette, and drop it when the tool icon is highlighted in red.

Operating multiple sub tools at once

If you are using Clip Studio Paint on tablet or smartphone, please switch to Studio Mode first.


From Ver. 4.0 and later, you can select multiple sub tools.

Check the checkboxes for the sub tools you want to select.



Using Modifier keys

You can select multiple sub tools by using the keyboard and edge keyboard Modifier keys.


Ctrl key / command key

Select sub tools while holding down the Ctrl key / command key.



Shift key

Select multiple consecutive sub tools at once with the Shift key.




If you cannot operate multiple sub tools at once

This feature is limited to Ver. 4.0.0 or later.

Please update to a version after Ver. 4.0.0.
