Please tell me about clipping
What is clipping?
Clipping is a function that refers to the drawing range of other layers and limits the display area of the selected layer.
The drawn content will not be displayed in the part where nothing is drawn on the referenced layer.
This is useful when adding shadows or adding shadows.
* In CLIP STUDIO PAINT, the layer below is referred to by the [Clip to Layer Below] function.
Basic usage
Here, we will show you how to draw the shadow part using the clipping function.
1. Prepare a layer that is primed with the base color.
* Please prepare not only the line art layer but also the undercoated layer.
2. Click [New Raster Layer] on the [Layer] palette to create a layer one above the undercoat layer.
3. With the layer created in step 2 selected, click [Clip to Layer Below].
When clipping, a red border will appear next to the thumbnail.
4. By drawing on a clipped layer, you can paint without exceeding the drawing range of the undercoat.
