macOS: What should I do if the accept incoming network connections screen appears when I connect to Companion mode?

When launching Companion mode on macOS, if the message “Do you want the application ‘CLIP STUDIO PAINT.app’ to accept incoming network connections?” appears, tap Allow to grant access.

You will not be able to start Companion mode if you do not allow access.

Note:
・Be sure to allow access to the app on any firewall warnings from other security programs that may appear.
・If no screen for incoming network connections appears, see here for assistance.

If you click Deny in the incoming network connections dialog, allow access from macOS System Settings.

1. Open Apple menu > System Settings.

2. Select Network > Firewall.

3. Tap Options.

4. Set CLIP STUDIO PAINT to Allow incoming connections and tap OK.

macOS 12 or earlier: What to do if you did not grant access

If no warning screen appears

Setting Block all incoming connections

If your macOS firewall is set to Block all incoming connections, please uncheck the box to allow access.

For details on how to set up the firewall, please refer to the “If you did not allow access” section.

Using other security software

If your system has other security programs installed and you have not set your system's permissions, or if a warning screen doesn't appear, you may need to grant access manually.

Please check with your security software provider how to set your permissions.

Example:

ESET

Norton

McAfee

Note:

Depending on the security software, the location of the app’s executable file needed to grant access may differ.

The location of the executable file is:

Executable File Location

Macintosh HD/Application/CLIP STUDIO 1.5/App/CLIPStudioPaint(.app)
