(Tablet / Smartphone) I see a “The app closed unexpectedly.” message
This error message is displayed when the app closes without saving the work.
If the app closed unexpectedly, please follow the steps below.
Solutions
If you are having trouble with the app force quitting, please try the solutions below in the order listed.
- Check the System Requirements
Please check whether the memory, OS version, etc. of the device you are using is supported here.
- Restart the app and your device.
Note: If you have unsaved works, please save your work before proceeding.
- Check how much open storage you have on your device.
- Perform Delete backup files.
- iPad / iPhone: Set Allocate to application to a lower value and restart the app.
Artwork or data is lost or has disappeared
If the work file or data is lost or has disappeared, please check whether the file or data remains in the save destination.
The default save location is set to the Clip Studio folder On My iPad or On My iPhone.
If you cannot find the Clip Studio folder, please refer to the page below and restart your iPad/iPhone and check.
If there is no data in the folder, refer to the following page to see if the data was saved as a back-up on the Clip Studio cloud.
If Clip Studio Paint force quits, it will automatically restore the canvas on the next startup.
