Studio Mode: How do I connect my Tabmate 2?

Please check if your device has Bluetooth® on.

Once you have done that check below for how to connect it in Studio Mode. See here for how to connect it in Simple Mode.


Note:
From March 14, 2024, Clip Studio Paint Ver. 3.0.0 supports Tabmate 2.
Go here to update your app to the latest version.



Connecting for the first time


1. Launch Clip Studio Paint on the device you would like to use your Tabmate 2 with.


2. Tap Register new Tabmate 2.


-Tablets

Tap the Clip Studio Paint icon > Clip Studio Tabmate and select Register new Tabmate 2.



- Windows

Tap the File menu > Clip Studio Tabmate and select Register new Tabmate 2.



- macOS

Tap the Clip Studio Paint menu > Clip Studio Tabmate and select Register new Tabmate 2.



- Smartphones

Tap the menu > App Settings > and select Register new Tabmate 2.



3. If a prompt for Bluetooth permission appears, allow it.



4. Once the “Looking for new Tabmate 2...” message appears, long-press the Clip Studio button on the controller for three seconds to turn the power on.



5. When “Found a new Tabmate 2. Do you want to connect and register it?” appears, tap Connect.



6. Your Clip Studio Tabmate 2 has now successfully been registered. You can review its connection status with the connection icon in the upper right corner.




Reconnecting your Tabmate 2

Please check if your device has Bluetooth® on.

Your device will automatically scan for the Tabmate if you have connected your Tabmate to your device at least once before.



1. Check that your connection icon on the command bar has turned to Scanning for Tabmate 2.



If it is showing that it is not connected, tap the icon to change it to scanning.


2. Turn on your registered Clip Studio Tabmate 2. (Do this by long-pressing for 3 seconds on the Clip Studio button on the bottom of the Tabmate 2)



3. When your Tabmate 2 is connected, the icon will turn to Connected to Tabmate 2.




Tabmate 2 Icon Status Guide

Scanning for Tabmate 2

This means your app is scanning for a Clip Studio Tabmate 2.

If you have connected your Tabmate to the device before then the app will automatically scan for the Tabmate.

Once you turn on your registered Clip Studio Tabmate 2, it will automatically connect.



Connected to Tabmate 2

This means your app is connected to a Clip Studio Tabmate 2.

You can now use your Clip Studio Tabmate 2.



Not connected to Tabmate 2

This means that your Clip Studio Tabmate 2 is not connected to your device.

Please check if your Tabmate still has power left and is on.

Once you turn on your Tabmate, tap the icon on the command bar to scan for your Tabmate.


Note:
The Tabmate 2 connection icon can be placed anywhere on the command bar or quick access palette.



If your Tabmate 2 connection icon does not appear on the command bar

Tablet/PC

If your command bar is filled up with commands, the Tabmate 2 icon will be in the dropdown menu at the end of the bar.




Smartphone

Swipe on the command bar to see the Tabmate 2 connection icon.
