Ver. 3: Clip Studio does not start on Windows

If Clip Studio Paint Ver. 3.0.0 freezes under Windows and does not start, please try the following.



Updating Microsoft Edge

You can update to the latest version when displaying Version information for Microsoft Edge.


1. Launch Microsoft Edge.


2. Select ..., then Help and Feedback, and About Microsoft Edge.



3. Confirm the version information.


■ If “Microsoft Edge is up to date.” is displayed, then you have the latest version.


■ If “Microsoft Edge is updating” is displayed, then Microsoft Edge is being updated. Please wait until the update is finished.


Note:
If “Please restart Microsoft Edge” is displayed after the update is finished, then please click “Restart” and relaunch Microsoft Edge.



Run Troubleshoot compatibility

Please follow the steps below to run the Troubleshoot compatibility.


1. Right-click on the Clip Studio icon and click on Troubleshoot compatibility.



For Windows 11

Right-click on the Clip Studio icon, then click on Confirm Other Settings, then Troubleshoot compatibility.


2. Select Try Recommended Settings.



For Windows 11

Click "Yes" if the message “Would you like to apply the recommended compatibility settings?” appears in the app.


3. Click on Test the Program, and then Next.



4. Select “Yes, save these settings for this program” to finish the troubleshooter.

Check if Clip Studio can start normally.




If the message, “Clip Studio failed to close normally last time." is displayed

If the problem does not improve after trying the above workaround and the message, “Clip Studio failed to close normally last time.” is displayed, please contact our support team here.


Until the issue is resolved, please start Clip Studio Paint directly from “Open Clip Studio Paint”.
