Can you tell me about Auto Save?

Clip Studio Paint has auto save features like Save recovery information, Save at regular intervals, and Overwrite.

See below for details.

Note: Save methods vary depending on the device.

Save recovery information

If Clip Studio Paint force quits on a computer or tablet, this feature automatically restores the canvas on the next startup.

macOS: Auto save before New, Open, Export

When Enable canvas recovery is turned on, restoration information is saved.


If auto save doesn’t work

Please update to a version after Ver. 4.0.0.

Tablets

Save at regular intervals

On the tablet version you can turn on Save at regular intervals to save the canvas constantly at a fixed time internal.



Save interval

You can set the time in 1 minute increments between 5 and 60 minutes.


Save mode

From Ver. 2.3.0 and later, You can select Overwrite or Save recovery information.

Overwrite is set by default and will overwrite the canvas data at fixed intervals.


Auto save when moving to Clip Studio Start

From Ver. 4.1.0 and later, the canvas is automatically saved when you return to the Clip Studio Start home screen from the canvas.


If Save at regular intervals is on, the canvas will be saved in the way you set it.


Auto save when camera launches

From Ver. 3.0.0 and later, on the tablet and smartphone versions, whenever you use Pose Scanner or any feature with your camera, the canvas will be saved automatically.

This prevents you from losing your work if the app unexpectedly quits.


If Save at regular intervals is on, the canvas will be saved in the way you set it.


Auto save before New, Open, Export

From Ver. 4.0 and later, if you use the commands New, Open, or Export while a canvas is already open, it will automatically be saved.


If Save at regular intervals is on, the canvas will be saved in the way you set it.

The canvas is automatically saved at the specified interval.

The canvas is automatically saved when you return to the Clip Studio Start home screen from the canvas.


Auto save when camera launches

From Ver. 3.0.0 and later, on the tablet and smartphone versions, whenever you use Pose Scanner or any feature with your camera, the canvas will be saved automatically.

This prevents you from losing your work if the app unexpectedly quits.


Smartphones will always have this on.


Auto save before New, Open, Export

From Ver. 4.0.0 and later, if New, Open, or Export is performed while a canvas is already open, it will automatically be saved.
