I can’t connect my Tabmate 2

There are several reasons why you may not be able to connect your Clip Studio Tabmate 2. Please refer to the below for more information.

Note: You must have Bluetooth® 4.0 or later usable on your device.



Check your Clip Studio Paint version

From March 14, 2024, Clip Studio Paint Ver. 3.0.0 supports Tabmate 2. Go to the page below to update your app to the latest version.



Note
Ver. 1 and Ver. 2 are not compatible with the Tabmate 2.



Turn on your device’s Bluetooth feature

Open your device settings and turn on Bluetooth.

Turn on Bluetooth access permission for the app

Note: Save your canvas before doing this.


After enabling your device’s Bluetooth settings, go to the Clip Studio app settings from the system settings menu and turn on Bluetooth access.

Note
The name of the Bluetooth access permission setting in the Clip Studio settings will differ based on what device you are using.



Check your Tabmate 2 device

Check the batteries

If the battery is old or has run out of charge, replace it with a new battery before use.

When putting in a battery, make sure that the − is up and the + is down.



Check your Tabmate 2

Please check if there is a strap hole on the side of the device.

Check if it is connected to another device

Your Tabmate 2 might be connected to another device already.

Disconnect it from all other devices before trying to connect it to the device you want to use it on.


You can confirm it is not connected by looking at the icon display.



How to disconnect the Tabmate 2

Icon: Tablet / Studio Mode on Smartphone / Computer

Tap the icon while it is scanning and set it to have ☓ displayed next to it.



Simple Mode Smartphone

Tap upper right menu button > Stop scanning for Tabmate 2 and make it display Scan for Tabmate 2.




Studio Mode: If the icon is not displaying on the command bar

If your Tabmate 2 connection icon does not appear on the command bar and it is not your first time connecting it, check the below.



Tablet/Computer

If your command bar is filled up with commands, the Tabmate 2 icon will be in the dropdown menu at the end of the bar.




Smartphone

Swipe on the command bar to see the Tabmate 2 connection icon.




If you can’t connect with ”Register new Tabmate 2”

If this is not your first time connecting it, your Tabmate 2 might already be registered.

Windows 10: If an error occurs during the scan for the Tabmate 2

If the following error message appears while scanning for the Tabmate 2 on Windows 10 with Bluetooth enabled, update Windows 10 to the latest version.

If nothing changes even after checking all of the above, your Clip Studio Tabmate 2 may be defective.
